Oak Street Heath in New Britain, CT receives 30 CareKits

This week, CareKit Community delivered 30 hygiene kits to Oak Street Health in New Britain, Connecticut. Oak Street Health is known for its personalized, compassionate approach to care and its commitment to serving underserved populations. We were honored to support their mission by providing CareKits filled with basic hygiene items for patients in need.

Oak Street Health primarily serves older adults and individuals with complex medical needs. As Community Relationship Manager Kyle Rodriguez shared, about 50 percent of their patients are covered by Medicare and the other 50 percent by Medicaid. Many of these patients face not only chronic health issues but also financial hardships that can make it difficult to access everyday essentials. Oak Street Health offers more than just medical care—it is a trusted home for comprehensive, person-centered support.

Each CareKit includes items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and bandages. These everyday products can have a meaningful impact on someone's dignity, confidence, and ability to care for themselves. In communities where health equity remains a challenge, small acts of support can go a long way.
